Social Media Can Help Spread A Movement

I’m young educated male of color, who’s proud of my culture and heritage. I’m not just a male of color but a person who loves the same sex. I’m also person who care about other people not just the same race but everybody. It doesn’t matter to me if you have a different skin color, religion, gender, love, and culture. I feel like everybody should have the same rights and equal opportunities then just being shove down because who there are. To be honest my social media accounts on Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat is not making a mark at all for my own personally account. However, with having social media account going through my browser looking at stories and images that going on. Help me learn more about what’s going on in our community, country, and the world. Social media also get many people involved to spread out the word, images, and videos to help activist, and protesters to make a change.

I have more than just one relationship experience on the media. I’m part of Black Lives Matter as young color male, Loves Wins with gay marriages, and Not my President. With social media for Black Lives Matter it helps spread on videos and images of young black males who our being harassed and murder by prejudice police officers. If we didn’t have social media in our society today; I feel like it will be like back in the day where they mostly cover up what happen from the news and the media. Social Media had brought up Black Lives Matter movement with people record videos and posting online to show what’s happening and the truth. Like many will say that a video will show what’s really going on than just somebody word. I feel like the news don’t show everything or tell the truth because with social media you can see what’s happening in a video or image.

So, with the death of Trayvon Martin's had sparked the Black Lives Matter movement with the help of social media. That involve many athletes, rappers, singers, actors, activist, and many regular people like our self. With the image of Trayvon Martin wearing a hoodie became iconic and going viral on social media. Many started wearing their hoodies to started protesting like the “Million Hoodie March” that took place in New York City and professional athletes who many look up to wearing hoodies during their games. Not only just Trayvon Martin death but others like Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Walter Scott's, Freddie Gray, and Sandra Bland. Who were all killed by police contact and caught on video and post it on social media had built a strong powerful Black Live Matter movement.
