Social Media's Collision on Feminism

Today, social media consist of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snap chat, Google, Printist etc. Social Media has a big impact on our live socially and mentally. Many years ago, it was difficult to find and keep in connect with people that you once knew in high school or college. Currently in this world, social media sites are making it much easier for people to find one another also to keep in touch. Growing up,  back in Highschool every student was glued to their phones. There was no communication going on. The youth today is adapting and learning how to use new technologies and social media of all types. Us humans uses social media everyday as a part of our lives, for example personal relationships and for entertainment.

Furthermore, understanding the backlash treatment against women on social media. Social media takes a big part on a women life. Women retain among media decision making, many have looked upon trends. not only do they make us unhappy but it is destroying gender roles and femininity. In the American culture, we associate femininity with qualities of beauty and In my perspective, I feel that women want to look more like models on magazines and on reality television shows, social media etc. then themselves. Women suffer from dieting, body image concerns, clothes trends and more.

Instagram, I love Instagram! Sometimes when I go on the app, I tend to see allot of women caring about their appearance. The most vulnerable users are the ones who spend most of their time posting pictures, commenting and comparing themselves to other photos. Teenage girls and adult women should be respected by media and self respected by men. Also women should feel comfortable with themselves in past, present and future.

Our former president, Donald trump speaks on women over the years. In 1997, he called women gold diggers. In 1996, He joked about dating girls under 17. 2000, Donald Trump rated women he wanted to have sex with. This shows not only women suffer from the backlash from social media but also from society and men.
